    Thanks to all of the previous UMISA members. The resignation is accepted and I hope you continue to support the new members of the UMISA board as some of you have done already.

    Not limiting alcohol helped us to have a very attractive event and more people showed up than last years ( around 300 guests). A lot of new people showed up because of our courage to protect their rights. We wasted our time on alcohol discussions and we lost our focus on executing a good event. However, UMISA is not tired of protecting Iranian’s rights and will do its best to refund their money.

    I strongly expect from the resigned people to fight for our guests’ money as hard as they fought for limiting the alcohol serving time. I will not have much time to spend on these discussions now because of the time consuming negotiations with the Dakota Hotel and organizing the election for the vacated positions. So, please delay the arguments for one month to continue in a fairer environment. Plus I am now in Niagara falls for a conference!

    Just a reminder to new candidates: You should be ready to fight for the Iranian students rights and do not be afraid of going to courts for that. Otherwise, you better do not get involved or you will have to resign when the tough time comes!

    از آنجا که در سالهای گذشته هم الکل به همین ترتیب سرو میشده این موضوع نمیتواند دلیل تعداد بیشتر مهمانان در امسال باشد. بلکه همانطور که خودت هم میدانی و در مهمانی عید هم ذکر شد علت تعداد بیشتر مهمانان، وجود بلیط های ارزانتر برای دانشجویان بود. وگرنه تعداد مهمانان غیر دانشچو به نسبت پارسال تغییر محسوسی نکرده است.

    گفته ای:

    تنها برای آکاهی دوستانی که ممکن است در جریان نباشند میگویم که همانطور که خودت هم گفته ای ایده محدود کردن مشروب را اول تو پیشنهاد کردی و بعد هم این تو بودی که شدیدا مخالفت کردی.علی من یک بار این موضوع را در جلسه یومیسا گفتم و باز هم تکرار میکنم. من مشکلی با سرو شدن یا نشدن مشروب ندارم. نمونه اش هم این که در خونه من چندین بار مشروب خورده شده (یکبارش تو هم بوده ای) بدون این که مشکلی از طرف من وجود داشته باشه.
    مشکل نحوه برخورد با مساله است. یک راه حل این بود که راجع به این موضوع حرف بزنیم و از دانشجویان نظر سنجی کنیم (مثلا با ایمیل) که تو این موضوع را وتو کردی. راه حل دیگه کاری بود که تو کردی. تو علنا اعضای یومیسا رو تهدید کردی که در صورت مخالفت با سرو مشروب از ابتدای مهمانی تو با خودت مشروب می آوری، مست میکنی و به مهمانانی که با سرو مشروب مشکل دارند متلک میگویی. علی این کار یعنی این که تو (به عنوان رییس یومیسا) مهمانی را به خانه ات دعوت کنی و بعد به او توهین کنی. علی مشکل سرو شدن یا نشدن مشروب نبوده و نیست، مشکل این است که تو اگر با چیزی موافق نباشی نمیتوانی به نظر جمع احترام بگذاری و میخواهی با هر روشی که شده حرف خودت رو به کرسی بنشونی.

    گفته ای:

    علی، اول بگویم که حرف من اصلا راجع به درست با غلط بودن شکایت از هتل داکوتا نیست بلکه مجددا راجع به نحوه برخورد تو به موضوع است. در این پست گفته ای این هیات به نمایندگی از یومیسا با هتل صحبت کرده است.

    اما هیات اجرایی یومیسا در هیچ جلسه ای راجع به این موضوع صحبت نکرده است که چه برخوردی درباره هتل انجام دهد و چه کسانی را به عنوان نماینده خود انتخاب کند. تو شخصا این تصمیم را گرفته ای و پیشبرده ای، حالا چطور از ما انتظار داری که از تو قویا حمایت کنیم. علی ما (حداقل من) پیاده نظام تو نیستیم (نیستم) که برای ما (من) تصمیم بگیری و انتظار حمایت همه جانبه هم داشته باشی.

    اول: برات آرزوی موفقیت میکنم.
    دوم: علی جان اگر میخواهی که این بحث ادامه پیدا نکند راه حلش این است که از گفتن حرفهایی که درست نیستند خودداری کنی و به جوابها هم بیشتر اهمیت دهی.
    سوم: سفر خوبی داشته باشی.

    Dear Azadeh,
    We had so many new non-students guests this year especially from the Kurdish community and Bahai community or old-timer Iranians. We had a lot of more requests for tickets too that we denied. A lot of them already knew that Dakota hotel was not a good choice but they came to respect our hard work to preserve their rights. Cheap tickets did not have that much effect on students because those ones who usually pay so much money for Ashura and Tasua were not willing to pay 15$ for our event. Even Halal food was not satisfactory. They will go to an event only if the food is halal, alcohol is not served and men and women dance separately.

    About not having problem with alcohol, it looks funny to me. especially for people who do not drink. it is not a fair assessment to say I do not have a problem with alcohol when you do not drink!

    I was sure that we cannot have 300 guests with the conditions you put. As you saw, even 8$ tickets cannot attract people to the kinds of events you rather. Plus, our problems in the event was not because of alcohol. It was because the majority of the UMISA board after Hamed left had deep sympathy with the Islamic religious community and basically did not care about others. As you said several times, you did not care if the guests in last years would not come this year. This totally shows what kind of event you had in mind and what kind of guests you rather to have.

    The problem is that you keep the rights of the president for yourself and do not even think the 2 event coordinator s and the president could do the negotiations without your permission. This shows what kind of controlling personality you have. This unfortunately affected the rest of the resigning people.

    I do not expect you to stand for the students rights. All you care is about a handful of people. You had strong reaction against alcohol but you look pretty fine about the bad hotel service.

    I do not care if the discussion continues now. I made my request and you showed your respect to it.

    Well, maybe your issue is different from my issue. Still, I do not understand why the people who would not hold a meeting in my absence and basically do not care how UMISA did in general are so sensitive about my management!

    Please bring me an example that I was not democratic.
    All the actions I made was approved by the board. Lots of the time I had to follow the approvals myself because some of the executive board were lazy. You can argue that I threatened to ruin the non-alcoholic event and it made you change your mind. I do not see why it is non-democratic. I said I was ready to be captured by the security and was ready to pay the price for that. I am proud of that and am saying it loudly. When you accept a responsibility you should respect people who voted for you and supported you. I did my best and am really proud of that despite the much pressure from those handful of people that Azadeh cared about.

    فکر می‌کنم متن استعفانامه اونقدر واضح و روشنه که اصلاً نیازی به این همه توضیح نداشته باشه در تعجبم که تو با اون هوش سرشار چرا خودت رو مرتباً به تجاهل می‌زنی و با فرافکنی اصل موضوع رو کنار می‌‌گذاری و دلیل استعفا برای ما می‌سازی. ما (و مشخصاً من) برای این استعفا دادیم که دیگه امکان کار در گروهی که اسمش گروه بود و ما می‌بایست خیلی از وقت‌ها خبرها و تصمیم‌گیری‌های جدید رو در جشن‌ها و یا از طریق وبسایت ببینیم، نبود. برای اینکه بعد از اینکه تو صریحاً در جلسه یومیسا گفتی “اگر سرو مشروب به بعد از شام موکول بشه من با خودم مشروب میارم، مست می‌کنم و متلک می‌گم” و تو عملاً صلاحیت ریاست بر یومیسا رو از نظر من از دست دادی. بعد ازاینکه تو در جلسه یومیسا صراحتاً گفتی من به عنوان ریس یومیسا تعیین می‌کنم که محل برنامه عید کجا باشه (که البته گروه به تو چنین اجازه‌ای نداد). بعد از اینکه سرخود برگزارکننده قبلی برنامه عید رو تلفنی وادار به استعفا کردی بدون اینکه هیچ کدوم از ما خبر داشته باشیم. باز هم لازمه بگم؟

    تو زمانی که به ما پیشنهاد همکاری در یومیسا رو دادی روی عقیدت برای وجود طیف‌های مختلف فکری در جمع هیأت اجرایی تأکید می‌کردی که نقطه قوت و یکی از دلایل مهمی بود که من شخصاً برای همکاری با یومیسا ترغیب شدم. یکی از مهمترین دلایل اقبال بیشتر مردم و حضور بیشترشون در برنامه‌های این دوره یومیسا نسبت به دوره‌های قبل، همین وجود آدمهای متفاوت که هرکدوم به نوعی نمایندگی از جمعی رو داشتند در این گروه بود. اما چیزی که من در اون موقع نمی‌دونستم این بود که تو دوست داشتی این آدم‌های متفاوت رو در گروهت داشته باشی اما حاضر نبودی زیر بار نظر جمعی اونها بری. تو دوست داری افراد با دیدگاه‌های فکری متفاوت دورت باشند و حمایتت کنند اما تو هنچنان یک تنه طبق خواست و میل خودت همه کارها رو پیش ببری که این غیر ممکنه.

    در مورد شروع این بحث‌ها باید بگم که این خود تو بودی که با کامنتت این بحث‌ها رو دامن زدی. تو انتظار داری حرف بزنی ولی خلافش چیزی نشنوی؟ اتفاقاً تو چنین بحث‌هایی (حتی بهتر بگم دعوا و بد و بیراه گفتن‌ها) را دوست داری. اینجوری “هیت” وبسایت هم بالا می‌ره مگه نه؟! خودت بارها اینو گفتی. اما من ترجیح می‌دم بیشتر از این وارد این دعوا نشم. همه چیز به اندازه کافی روشن هست. به هم زدنش فقط می‌تونه مشام رو بیشتر آزار بده. بنابراین تا زمانی که واقعاً احساس نکنم توضیحی لازمه دیگه اینجا در این مورد کامنتی نخواهم گذاشت.

    برای تو و اعضای جدید یومیسا آرزوی موفقیت می‌کنم و طبق قرارمون هرزمانی که وب‌مستر جدید تعیین شد با کمال میل توضیحات فنی لازم رو در اختیارش خواهم گذاشت.

    من هم با تو موافقم که هدف علی از این بحث ها نه نتیجه گرفتن که شلوغ کردن دعوا و بالا بردن هیت وبلاگه وگرنه دلایل استعفای ما کاملا واضحه. به همین علت من هم با آرش موافقم و دلیلی نمیبینم که این بحثو اینجا ادامه بدم.

    From the resigning people you are the only one that I am going to miss in the new board. Because you were the only person who was on time all the time and did your responsibilities fully. You are a professional guy and I respect you.

    As I said I agree that I made a mistake in changing the Norouz event coordinator from Arjang to Majid suddenly and without giving enough tought. I am not saying Majid is not a very very nice person. I believe we should all the patriotism from him. I like him very much. But the fact is after some conversations with him I realized it was going to be a very difficult responsibility for him and UMISA Norouz event was going to become only for religious people with those conditions. I made the corrections as soon as I realized I had taken it not seriously enough. As you saw, all of you came to the same conclusion and decided there should be a new event coordinator. Mahmoud jaan, it was not only me who would do those stuff on that night. You would not believe me then and I had to make those threats to make the event more anjoyable for more people.

Especially you because of our older friendship. Please believe me that I did not mean anything in emotional level. What I was saying was that Mahmoud used to do its job as a umisa member very well and responsibly. just that.

    Arman jaan as I said I made a mistake and I corrected it very fast as soon as I realized. But still I believe you should be more sensitive to the indian chef mistakes than my mistakes. I mean you should at least spend 1/10 of the time you spend to teach me management lessons on fighting for the rights of Iranian students. This is what is valuable in public eyes. We have to be able to fight for our rights in external affairs as much as we do in internal affairs. There is so much debate that what time alcohol should be served and Iranians have different opinions on that. But the fact that the Dakota hotel did not give us a service worth paying $25 per person is VERY CLEAR.

    Plus, actions talk better than words. If you spend your whole free time expressing how much you respect Iranian students but you do not wish to fight for their obvious rights, the immediate conclusion is that you only care about yourself and the very close circle of friends.

    I know some of the resigning people have already refused to be an Iranian anymore and it makes sense for them not to fight for Iranian people’s rights. It does not make sense for you though. You should show your toughness now.

    That is OK Arman. But I think at least you can confirm the bad ventilation. Nobody was sure about your resignation because you had emailed us saying you will be there until after Norouz. I think these are also called management mistakes on your side i.e. nobody knew what you were doing.

    جناب آقای علی اشتری

    من به نوبه خودم لازم دانستم استعفای این دوستان عزیز را که در بــــــــرزخ نه جمهوری نه اسلامی ایران و کانادای آزاد ؛ گیر کرده اند و همواره تلاش کرده و می کنند قوانین قرون وسطایی و استبدادی و ضد آزادی آن را در این کشور آزاد بار دیگر تجربه نمایند ، به تو دوست عزیز، با غیرت ، آزادیخواه و مستقل که به تمامی مصلحت اندیشی ها ، وابستگی ها و منفعت طلبی های دنیوی ؛ پشت کرده ای و همچون ماهی سیاه کوچولوی صمد بهرنگی ( داستان نشریه همسفر ) تک و تنها قبول مسئولیت کرده و می کنی و مدافع منافع جامعه ایرانی چه دانشجو و چه غیر دانشجو هستی و وقت گرانبهای خودت را صرف آن می کنی ؛ تبریک می گویم .

    براستی آنها چه زیبا وعده نــفرت انـــگیز خرخره جویدن شان را که از سال قبل در این وب سایت به همه اعلام کرده بودند ؛ را در نبود تو محقق نمودند. و چه بسیار شگفت آور است که در ایران بایستی شاهد جویده شدن خرخره وبلاگ نویسانمان و آزادیخواهانمان که می خواهند فضای آزادی و شرافت را احساس نمایند ؛ باشیم و در این سر دنیا در فضای آزادی بایستی شاهد سانسور و استبداد و وبلاگ نویسان خرخره جونده آنهم در بالاترین قشر تحصیل کرده خود باشیم!!!! آنهایی که امروز تو را دیکتاتور صدا می کنند تا دیروز مرا دیکتاتور و شعبان بی مخ لقب می دادند . آیا این طرز رفتار و بیان آنها توهین آمیز نیست؟ درحالیکه در گذشته همین افراد مرا نیز متهم به توهین به دیگران و تمامیت طلبی می کردند؟

    براستی چه زیباست که گذشت زمان نشان می دهد که تمامیت طلبان و توهین کنندگان واقعی چه کسانی هستند ؟ چه زیباست که گذشت زمان اثبات کننده این است که ساختار فکری و عقیدتی چه کسانی اندیشه مخالف و شنیدن کلمه ” نه ” بر نمی تابد ؟ و باز چه زیباست که گذشت زمان نشان می دهد که ایرانی دوست واقعی و مدافع منافع ایرانیان درعمل چه کسانی هستند ؟ و آنها بدرستی همچون بزرگان و مرشدان و پیشکسوتان عقیدتی شان چاره ای جز انگ چسبانیدن ؛ نبایستی در خود بینند و چه افتخاری بزرگتر از آن که این افراد تو را مورد توهین و دشنام شان قرار دهند و به تو بی احترامی نمایند ؟

    اما علی عزیز ای شرافتمرد ایرانی؛
    بدان که تو به تنهایی به تمامی اصول و ارزشهایی که جامعه ایرانی در طول این دوران سیاه و ننگین حاکم بر سرزمین و میهنمان آن را از دست داده اند و با نهایت تاسف و تاثر به بعضی از اقشار تحصیل کرده مان که می توانستند امید و آرزوهای آن جامعه باشند نیز سرایت کرده است ؛ معنی و مفهوم دوباره دادی .

    جامعه ایرانی در سراسر دنیا و نه فقط وینیپگ باید به داشتن عنصری پاک و صادق همچون تو ، افتخار نماید . موقعیت فعلی میهنمان گواه این حقیقت تلخ است که امثال تو که حاضر نیستند با شرافت و غیرت شان معامله نمایند و پایبندی به حقیقت و درستی و صداقتشان را بهر قیمتی به فروش بگذارند و از آفت و بیماری حرص و آز دنیا طلبی مدعیان قیامت و زندگانی جاوید ، مصون بمانند ؛ بسیار کم و به تعداد انگشتان دست می باشد . و وظیفه تک تک ما در حفظ و نگهداری ستارگانمان همچون تو می باشد و تمامی ایرانیان ساکن وینیپگ باید به داشتن شخصیت ارزشمندی همچون تو بر خود ببالند.

    من تو را مسلمان و خود را هم آیین تو می دانم چون تو پایبندی خود را به مفاهیم اسلامی ، قرآنی و نهایتاً عقلی در عمل نشان دادی و خود را مسلمان و هم آیین کسانی که دینشان و مذهب شان را از دین فروشان و کاسبان دینی که از بی استعدادترین و وطن فروش ترین اقشار جامعه ایران به گواه تاریخ آن بوده و هستند ، یاد گرفته اند و سعی در ترویج آن به منحط ترین شیوه هایی که از همانها یاد گرفته اند ، می نمایند ؛ نمی دانم و از مسلمان بودن خود شرمنده و خجل زده هستم .

    متأسفانه یک شخصی که نمی شناسمش آمده و با اسم من در این مئت کامنت گذاشته. من حقیقتش شخصاً بیشتر حرفهای این آدم سودجو و بی منظق را قبول ندارم و همین جا اعلام می کنم که هیچ کدام از این حرفها از طرف ایکس نبوده است
    من چند وقتی سرم شلوغ بود و در این مدت هر از مادر قهر کرده ای به خودش جرأت داده نام ایکس بر خودش بگذارد. البته از ادبیات افتضاح و لحن بی منطقش همه می فهمند که این فرد ایکس نیست. ایکس را بگذارید که همان ایکس بماند. در وصف این ایکس قلابی همین بس که حواسش نبود که من 4 تا ایکس داشتم و بعد آمده و با شیوه مسخره ای خواسته ماسمال کند
    واقعاً خجالت آور است. چه چرندیاتی هم گفته این ایکس قلابی. این شعرهای کودکانه و داستانهای چرت و پرت کار ایکس نیست. من فقط اینجا با دلیل و منطق حرف می زنم
    من در جستجوی حقیقت بوده و هستم. به زودی هم من را خواهید شناخت. من از شما ها خیلی دور نیستم

    سلام
    اینجا میایم حرف میزنیم و به هم انتقاد میکنیم چون همدیگه رو دوست داریم. تمام بهانه ما برای دور هم جمع شدن اینه که دوست هستیم. دیدم که کامنتهای من داره باعث میشه که دوستی های قدیمی که اصل ماجراست از دست بره. من یه لحظه همصحبتی با دوستان صمیمی خودم رو با هزار تا یومیسا عوض نمی کنم. برای همین از مسؤول فعلی وبسایت خواهش کردم کامنتهای من رو پاک کنند. من کامنتهایی که در مورد علی اشتری نوشتم رو پس میگیرم چون یه نفر سومی رو با این کامنتها آزردم که واقعاً دوستش دارم. هر چی گفتم و نوشتم مخالفت یا موافقت با اندیشه ها بود نه اشخاص

    دوست خردمند من

    من حقیقتاً از آخرین کامنتت لذت بردم چرا که پایبندی و ارزش تو را به اصالت ” عقــــــل و خـــــرد ” را بدور از هر گونه یافته های سنتی و نادرست گذشته ( همان تعصبات و سنتهای جاهلیت ) را در آن دیدم و این دقیقاً همان چیزی است که قرآن همه ما را به آن تشویق می نماید ( فبشر عباد الذین یستمعون القول فیتبعون أحسنه ) .

    من در این قسمت کاملاً با تو همعقیده هستم ، ما اینجا می آییم ، حرف می زنیم ، جدل می کنیم ، ابراز عقیده می کنیم تا نهایتاً سعی بکنیم که

    درست بیاندیشیــــــــــــم تا بتوانیم درست عمـــــــــــل نماییم

    و این همانا رسالت یک مسلمان واقعی و بی شک تمامی رهروان ادیان الهی باید باشد.

    لازم به یادآوری می دانم که تحقق کلیه خواسته های بالا بر اساس قوانین نه جمهوری نه اسلامی ایران نه تنها امری محال بوده بلکه ممکن است به کارهــــــــای سیاســـــــی و توهین به مقدسات و امثالهم تعبیر و تفسیر گردد . متاسفانه از آنجائیکه در کانادای آزاد کسانی هستند که منافع فردی و خانوادگی خود را کماکان مـــــدیون آن نظام استبدادی می دانند نه تنها تلاش به ایجاد چنین شبهه ای نموده و می نمایند بلکه سعی در نــــــــــوازش کردن خواسته ها و نیازهای حکومت فعلی ایران می کنند . و بر این اساس قوانین قرون وسطایی آن را مبنای قضاوتشان قرارداده و می دهند و از هیچ تلاشی در جهت تحقق آن فروگذار نمی نمایند.

    بنابراین وظیفه تک تک ما می باشد که با برگزیدن اشخاصی که در عمل به آزادی و ارزشهای انسانی و کمک به همنوعان خود پایبند هستند ؛ در وحله اول به خود و در وحله دوم به ایرانی بودن خودمان بر مبنای قوانین مبتنی بردمکراسی و حاکم بر کانادا ؛ احترام بگذاریم .آزاده گی و آزاده بودن به عمل است نه به اسم و براستی که عمل به آن نیز کار ساده ای نمی باشد .

    Thanks a lot for your valuable comment. I think what you mentioned is in part because of the 8-year of deception in Khatami’s era. It has had very harmful effects on our intellects. Some of the students think the only minority we have in Iran is “the religious minority”. That is why they see their non-democratic requests as democratic ones. The khatami’s virus has affected us so badly that even a Kurdish student does not care about the Kurd’s rights. I never heard any discussion in the previous UMISA board as to what satisfies the Kurdish community. or, Bahai community or old-timer Iranians who fought hard against the current regime. They only would say we have made a decision and we should stick to it no matter how wrong it was. Interestingly, they only insisted on that particular issue (limiting alcohol serving time) and I saw a lot of flip flops in their other decisions.

    This kind of behavior is what I call Khatami’s virus. He also believed in reform but just for religious people. He did not care about opposition groups or other religious minorities. Khatami also would not stand for his rights specially if he had to pay a price.

    This is sad to see how much Islamic republic has corrupted our minds. Unfortunately, it has been able to put its ideology into our minds without us even understanding. It reminds me of the book 1984.
